Asuka Kondo is an independent curator and programme maker based in Amsterdam, and between the Netherlands and Japan.
Her practice is built around what has been left unsaid: the histories of women, communities, and places that were overlooked, forgotten, or never written down in the first place. She works the way a listener works: drawing out what's formless until it can be shared.
She is currently a programme maker at Van Eesteren Museum and co-founder of Goja, a food collective. She calls herself a Future Ancestor, the idea that everyone born becomes one, eventually, to someone. It shapes how she works now: carefully, so that something worth keeping remains.
近藤あすかは、アムステルダムを拠点に活動するキュレーター、プログラムメーカー。オランダと日本を行き来しながら仕事をしています。
彼女が大切にしているのは、まだ語られていないことたち。見過ごされたり、忘れられたり、そもそも書き留められることのなかった、女性やコミュニティ、場所にまつわる歴史です。彼女はいつも聞き手として、そこにある。かたちのないものを、そっと、分かち合えるかたちになるまで、時間をかけて引き出していきます。
現在はVan Eesteren Museumでプログラムメーカーを務めながら、フードコレクティブGojaの共同創設者としても活動中。彼女は自分のことを「Future Ancestor(未来の祖先)」と呼んでいます。生まれた瞬間から、誰もがいつか、誰かにとっての祖先になっていく―そんな考え方です。だからこそ今を、丁寧に生きたい。後に残るものが、大切にされたものであるように。
展覧会企画・プログラム開発・アーティスト・イン・レジデンスの組織化など、各種ご依頼を受け付けています。
