Asuka Kondo (b. 1994, Japan) is a curator, producer, and social designer whose practice centres on fostering connection, preserving memory, and nurturing belonging within communities. Her work creates spaces for exchanging ideas and amplifying individual voices, particularly those often overlooked or undervalued by mainstream narratives.
Positioning herself as a "bonus auntie/sister," Asuka is deeply committed to listening to and sharing life stories that deserve recognition: stories that might otherwise remain untold. Through this approach, she creates platforms for diverse experiences to be witnessed and celebrated.
Since January 2024, Asuka has served as a program maker at the Van Eesteren Museum in Amsterdam, where she curated Nieuwelingen and co-curated For Women Only, in addition to organising various events and workshops that engage communities in meaningful dialogue.
